{"id":536,"date":"2019-09-03T08:04:55","date_gmt":"2019-09-03T08:04:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.1.251\/wordpress_en\/?page_id=536"},"modified":"2023-07-03T17:08:25","modified_gmt":"2023-07-03T14:08:25","slug":"minister","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ministryofjustice.gr\/English\/?page_id=536","title":{"rendered":"Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1284\" src=\"https:\/\/ministryofjustice.gr\/English\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/businessdaily-floridis.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1045\" height=\"585\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ministryofjustice.gr\/English\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/businessdaily-floridis.jpg 1045w, https:\/\/ministryofjustice.gr\/English\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/businessdaily-floridis-768x430.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1045px) 100vw, 1045px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Georgios Floridis<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>He was born in Kilkis in 1956.<\/p>\n<p>He studied at the Law Schools of Thrace and Thessaloniki.<\/p>\n<p>He was elected first president of the Students' Association of the Law School of Thrace in 1974 and then president of the Students&amp;#39; Association of Kilkis Prefecture.<\/p>\n<p>He worked as a lawyer in Kilkis and Thessaloniki.<\/p>\n<p>In October 1994 he was elected Prefect of Kilkis and, a year later, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Association of Prefectural Governments.\\<\/p>\n<p>From 1996 to 2011 he was a Member of Parliament for Kilkis, elected in five consecutive elections.<\/p>\n<p>He was Deputy Minister of Interior, Public Administration and Decentralisation, Deputy Minister of Culture (responsible for Sports), Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance and Minister of Public Order.<\/p>\n<p>During his parliamentary term, he was a member of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, the Special Standing Committee on Institutions and Transparency, the Special Standing Committee on the Audit of the State&amp;#39;s Balance Sheet and Accounts, and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).<\/p>\n<p>In June 2011 he resigned as a Member of Parliament and returned to the practice of law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Georgios Floridis He was born in Kilkis in 1956.
