The Assisting Authority
The Hellenic legislation was adjusted to the Directive 2004/80/EC of the Council of the European Union of 29 April 2004 with Law 3811/2009 “Compensation to violent crime victims and other provisions”.
Law 3811/2009 “Compensation to violent crime victims and other provisions” and Ministerial Decree 45944/2010 as amended, established at the Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights, The Hellenic Assisting Authority.
The Hellenic Assisting Authority is responsible for receiving applications concerning petitions for compensation to victims of violent crimes, committed in the territory of another Member State of the European Union.
The petitions are accepted exclusively in the Greek language and submitted in special forms. The relevant forms are available at the premises of the Ministry of Justice and on line at the Ministry’s web site www.ministryofjustice.gr.
